Started working with a Used Car Dealer in Mississauga around Feb 2026.

Honestly when we started, rankings were pretty bad.

Main keywords were sitting around:

used vehicles mississauga → Avg Rank 17.67

Month 2 – Expansion & SILO Strategy

Once the foundation became stable, we started pushing authority and topical relevance.

GEO Grid Analysis

We compared ranking movement between Month 1 and Month 2 and identified weak areas.

Website & SILO Work

  • Technical SEO fixes implementation
  • Core 30 SILO batch 1
  • Header menu restructuring
  • Service hierarchy optimization
  • Internal linking improvements

Local Content

  • Created neighbourhood pages based on weak GEO Grid zones
  • Published local blog content
  • Started Medium profile setup
  • Started Reddit entity building and local engagement

GBP & Entity Signals

  • Uploaded native GBP videos
  • Yelp entity optimization
  • Citation indexing

Link Building

  • Quality backlinks round 2
  • Hyper-local sponsorship backlinks

Month 3 – Authority & Market Domination

At this stage rankings started accelerating much faster.

Advanced Local SEO

  • Toxic spam cleanup
  • Competitor spam fighting
  • Duplicate listing removal
  • Continued SILO execution
  • Additional neighbourhood pages

GBP Growth

  • More native videos
  • Ongoing posting strategy
  • Daily activity consistency

Authority Building

  • Hyper-local sponsorship links
  • Industry relevance signals
  • Entity strengthening

This is usually where momentum compounds heavily.

Biggest lesson from this project:

Local SEO is usually not about magic tricks. Most growth came from consistency and fixing small local signals properly month after month.

Still ongoing project but thought worth sharing here.

What is this tool you are using for local rankings?

He mentioned Local Dominator for the grids and Wincher for keywords in the post.

The roadmap is solid but i am curious about the reddit entity building part. Local subreddits are usually run by mods who ban anything that looks even slightly like a business. How are you doing the local engagement there without getting nuked? Aged accounts or just super stealth comments?

Those local sponsorships are definitely the way to go too, way better than spamming another 50 useless directories.

Local Dominator is the grid tool, BrightLocal/Places Scout can do similar too.

The Reddit entity part is the only one I’d be careful with... if you go in dropping dealer links in local subs it’ll get cooked fast. Better as a co-occurrence play imo, aged account, normal local comments, maybe brand mention without link when it actually fits. For car dealers I’ve seen GBP photos/videos + clean inventory/service internal linking move the needle more than most people expect.

Those local sponsorship links are def the better moat though, especially hockey clubs, school pages, charity events, small local blogs etc.
