Is blacklink from websites which traffic is 0 helpful for Ranking?

I used ahrefs to get some high related backlinks for my industry. Recently I just noticed that some high related backlinks with DA 30 but not has traffic, which had large traffic several months ago but now had no traffic. I assumed these websites are affected by the recent Google update.
My question now is it still very useful to get these high DA black links but traffic very low

DA alone wouldn't convince me. If a site lost most of its traffic after a Google update, I'd first figure out why it happened. If it's still relevant, indexed, and has a clean history, the link can still have some value. But I'd rather get a link from a healthy, relevant site than chase DA.

No, they're not worth it in my opinion. Unless you're getting them for free.
 
DA 30 isn't that high. Plus, that traffic drop is likely a sign of a penalty. In Ahrefs system, the drop means the site lost its rankings for major keywords.
 
I don't think traffic is the only thing to check. If a website is related to your niche and has good content then the backlink can still be useful but I would not build all my backlinks from website with no traffic.
 
traffic isn't the only factor, but a site with 0 organic traffic is a red flag, especially if it lost all its visibility after a google update. I'd rather get links from relevant sites that are still indexed and maintaining some organic presence. a lower DA site with real traffic is usually a safer and more valuable choice than a high DA site that's effectively dead

Of course, trafic is not everything by itself, but no traffic should be a cause for worry either. check out the ranking, back link, gud content and activity level. It is much more imprtant that a website is relevant and trusted than it has any DA left.
 
I would not judge a backlink only by DA. If a site has lost all of its traffic then i would first try to understand why. If it was hit by an update or has quality issues then that link may not be as valuable as it looks. I prefer sites that are still active and getting real visitors.

These backlinks are not useful in my opinion.
 
Backlinks cannot always be judged solely based on traffic figures. However, when there is absolutely zero organic traffic coming to the website, I consider such a website worthy of further investigation. Websites that may have been affected by Google updates and therefore deindexed, link farms, or websites showing any other negative behaviour should be avoided completely. Even if the website in question is ranked as having a domain authority score of 30+.

However a decline in traffic wil not be a suficient reason for us to ignore any possible connection however an unexpected decline and then silence is likely to raise eyebrow. this may mean problem with indexing, link, content or general activity on the site.
 
@Social Account Seller this thread is mixing up two different animals.

A site that HAD traffic and lost it after an update -> that is not "low traffic", that is a site Google just demoted. And your timing fits: core update in May, spam update end of June. A link from a freshly flattened site inherits the demotion. Skip those.

A site that never chased traffic in the first place -> different story. Bias alert: I run a network of sites whose whole job is passing link equity, so take this as shop talk from the other side of the counter. Most of them will never win a traffic contest and they still move rankings just fine. Google scores a link by the linking site's authority and trust, not by its Ahrefs traffic graph. Traffic is an output of ranking, it was never an input to your link.

The 3 minute check before you buy:
  • site:domain.com -> deindexed or down to a handful of pages = dead, walk away
  • look at WHAT it lost -> money terms vanished on an update date = it got hit. Never ranked for anything = it never played that game, which can be fine
  • DA 30 means Moz's crawler likes it. Google has never seen that number once. Read the actual link profile instead
 
I believe that you have build up your website authority with backlink building is there any suggestions please ?
 
Backlinks from websites with 0 traffic are generally not helpful for boosting your search engine ranking. Search engines, like Google, evaluate backlinks based on their authority and the actual user traffic they can generate to your site.
 
DA is a 3rd-party metric and can be manipulated. If the site really has authority and trust, the backlink is of value even if the page has 0 traffic. It's similar to how Wikipedia pages with 0 traffic pass trust signals. However nofollow links don't pass authority, so your rankings may not improve in such a case. If it's a do-follow link and the site has real authority, then it's a good backlink. On the flip side, low authority pages that already rank for your target keyword are equally valuable.
 
i wouldn't judge a site by DA alone if it's still indexed relevant to your niche and doesn't look spammy the backlink can still provide some value however if the traffic suddenly dropped to zero i'd first check whether the site was hit by a google update or a penalty before getting a link from it
 
DA = Domain Authority is powered by MOZ. I use DA after Google deprecated PageRank (PR). When people say DA is manipulated, remember not only DA - everything can be manipulated: TF, PR, CF, DR, etc. So it doesn't mean it's useless.

Now to the question you asked: yes, it's still valuable, but it really depends on the niche and your situation. Sure it matters, but not how much it will affect. If you're building those backlinks with DA using tools like GSA, keep building - continue, as those cost pennies or are free. But if it's paid, expensive, or even manual and time-consuming, I would monitor more.
 
I look at relevance and website quality first, not only traffic. A site with low traffic can still have value if it is trusted, relevant, and has a clean backlink profile.
