Keyword search volumes dropping in 2025–2026?

Seeing in a few niches like casino/gambling, a big drop in semrush data. But traffic is still coming; just the volume metrics look weird.

Semrush is showing lower search volume for some keywords, but my rankings and traffic is still consistent. I usually trust real performance more than estimated numbers.
 
Yeah, I Have seen some non brand keywords drop as well, My actual traffic has not changed much, So I think it's more of a data refresh than a real search demand issue.

Yes, I have noticed something similar. I think it's not just your niche. Semrush updates its keyword database and search volume estimates from time to time, so the numbers can go up or down even if the actual traffic hasn't changed much.

I wouldn't rely only on Semrush. I usually compare the data with Google Search Console and Google Keyword Planner before making any decisions. If your impressions and clicks are still stable in Search Console, then I wouldn't worry too much about lower estimated search volumes in Semrush
 
I've noticed the same trend across multiple projects. I trust Google Search Console impressions and clicks more than third party volume estimates when evaluating keyword demand.
 
tbh i think ai is taking a growing share of informational searches that used to go straight to google. wouldnt be surprised if this trend accelerates over the next few years.

I pay more attention to impressions and clicks in search console than keyword volume estimates. Sometimes a keyword shows lower volume in SEO tools but still brings consistent traffic. It is worth checking multiple data sources before changing your strategy.
 
Keyword volumes have changed noticeably in a number of industries. A smart strategy is to target multiple related keywords while diversifying the content.

Yes, I've noticed it too.
Semrush search volume estimates can fluctuate, and in some niches overall demand has also shifted. I usually compare it with Google Search Console data before assuming it's a real traffic decline.
