People of the BHW, this morning I set my IG accounts to disallow AI reuse by Meta, and, surprise surprise, all of them got deactivated. It might be a glitch or maybe the Zuck is annoyed he can't get my work for free. but tread carefully

Must be a glitch because if not that is not good for privacy at all.

I wonder when someone will appear to destroy this Meta monopoly, already tired of their garbage

Oh, but they do let Kevin Trudeau advertise on IG :poop:

Interesting. Could be a coincidence or just a Meta bug, but I'd wait a bit before changing that setting on important accounts. Curious to see if anyone else can reproduce it.

All the people saying no to cookies and all that back in the day are giving AI access to calendars, personal data, social platforms, business websites, the whole lot

Seen a hilarious post about this when I was floating through LinkedIn one of the days

Couldn't stop thinking about our @Dopious

Anyone else notice that if you add a contact phone number to your device, that person shows up as a follow suggestion on all the social media platforms?

Could be related to a system issue, I’d watch for more reports before jumping to conclusions.

Not sure if it's related to the AI setting or just a coincidence but it's a good reminder to test changes carefully and keep backups of important accounts. Definitely something to be careful about.

submit an appeal and verify you didn’t change anything else around the same time like login info maybe or something

That's a pretty wild coincidence if the two are actually related.
Hopefully it's just a bug on Meta's side and not some unintended side effect of changing that setting. Definitely curious to hear if anyone else experienced the same thing.

The sudden disabling of all your Instagram accounts could be the result of an automated account scan or a temporary technical glitch in Meta's system. This is most likely to happen when users attempt to manipulate privacy settings or refuse permission to train AI.

Testing changes gradually keeping backups and monitoring accounts can help avoid unexpected issues. Good reminder to be careful with AI setting.

I’d be careful assuming its connected platforms can trigger random reviews after account changes. Better to check patterns from multiple users first.

After recovering your account, the safest way to prevent your content from being used as AI training data without the risk of accidental manipulation is to switch your account to Private Account mode.

Hopefully it's just a temporary deactivation. Meta has had some pretty strange bugs before.

This is somethinng to be worried about. This could turn out to be just a bug but after seeing that many accounts have been affected by the same thing I would think twiice before making changes to this setting in my accounts.
