Guest posts are still working for me when they're relevant. I pay more attention to the site's quality and niche than just DR or traffic.

Backlinks from highly authoritative relevant websites are the best. Guest posts or niche edits from these websites give the best link "juice".
 
Before buying or building a backlink I check if the site has consistent organic traffic is indexed properly has a clean backlink profile and publishes useful content those factors have been much better indicators than authority metrics alone

Guest posting still works in 2026 only on sites with real traffic and editorial standards not with link farms. Digital PR also works well. Before getting any links, check for real traffic and niche relevancy not just the DA/DR.
