What tips and recommendations do you have to get website listed in Googles "Selected Results" on the top of searches?

So i been noticing many websites getting the "selected results" position in google for keywords im after so to speak, i already read up a little about increasing the chances of getting listed in this section in google, i wanted to check with the members here if they have any tips on how to increase my chances to get listed in this section for keywords?,

What i already have implemented is:

• Adding comparission tables high up on the website
• Adding bullet point list on the website
• Adding a FAQ section to the website

you already doing the right structural things. One additional thing that actually help is checking what format Google already showing for that exact keyword in featured snippet, if its a numbered list your content should also be numbered list, if its a paragraph yours should be concise paragraph. Copying the format Google already reward for that query matter more than just having any structured content also add a direct answer in first 40-60 words right after the H2 heading that match the search query, Google pull snippet from that exact area most of the time. Your FAQ and comparison table help but that opening direct answer is usually what actually get selected.

Theres no guaranteed way to get those top selected results like featured snippets or AI generated answer sources but youve already covered some of the biggest on page elements.

Id also focus on a few things, answer the target question in 40-60 words directly below the heading before going into detail, use clear H2/H3 headings that match search intent and common queries and add structured data where relevant like FAQ, HowTo, Product etc even though it doesnt guarantee selection. Build topical authority with multiple high quality pages around the same subject instead of relying on a single article and improve your overall authority with strong, relevant backlinks since Google tends to trust established sources more, also keep content updated, accurate and easy to scan with short paragraphs and descriptive headings.

At the end of the day the biggest factors are matching search intent better than competitors and being seen as a trustworthy source, even perfectly formatted content often wont win the spot if a stronger site already satisfies the query.

Honestly you're already doing the damn basics right, just make sure you're top 5 first cuz optimizing for snippets while sitting on page 2 is a fucking waste of time

Great, thanks for all the answers, then im on the right course, i will do some testing when it comes to adding faq maybe to the top 25% of the pages, and perhaps base those FAQ on the exact same answers where i see the competitors already selected for the "selected results" and answer directly

Also focus on internal linking to pages in the same topic cluster so to speak, also yes the website in question is like #1 in google, the problem is that the current "selected results" is getting alot of the visits.

Would you define answering the question better with something like this

Where do i find the best plumber in Kanses?
The best plumber in Kanses can be found on websites like Craiglist, directories and google searches...

So basically just expanding on the answer with "more", or better help content so to speak ?

I have noticed pages with simple definitions, Short answer paragraphs, and clean formatting tend to perform better. There's no guarantee, but making it easy for Google to understand definitely seems to help.

You're on the right track, and to continue, you need to check what formats Google is displaying, for example, numbering or paragraph content. Search and add direct answers as soon as keywords appear; this is more effective than doing it simultaneously. Update your content regularly and mix keywords to improve your website's ranking.
