How can I get rid of the Instagram DM spam filter?

Hello, when I send DMs to other users, my DM is falling into spam on their side. What could be causing this filter and how can I get rid of it? My account has 400 followers, why could this be happening?

Yeah its kinda weird, that happened to me as well. But I only messaged one person. Maybe the person reported you. Or its just the automated system can never tell clearly.
 
It could be the message itself. Some words or phrases can trigger Instagram's spam filters, especially if they sound promotional or ask people to take action. I'd try changing the wording and avoid sending the exact same DM to everyone.
 
Sometimes instagram flags messages if you send too many at a time or if they all look the same. Try to send DMs, make the messages little different and use your account normally for few days.
 
I've run into this before, and from what I've seen it's usually about how you're sending DMs, not how many followers you have.

If you're sending the same message back to back in a short time or links right away, Instagram can start treating those messages as spam, even if your intentions are genuine. Slow things down for a few days, personalize each message a bit.
 
When your DMs get filtered into the spam folder, this is generally because the account is not completely trusted by Instagram or its messaging activity. Pace yourself, do not send repetitive messages, and engage in regular activity.
 
This can happens with older accounts also. Avoid to send the same message to lots pf peopel and try to make each DM more personal. I think natural activity and good account history helps with time.
 
It seems that sending too many messages or sending messages continuously to strangers in a short period of time triggers the anti-spam mechanism.

-What is the setup you are using to send DMs?
-How was the account created?

Need more info to see where the issue is.

If you spam the same generic message, IG makes the messages you send go to spam.
 
It is your sending habits that matter, not the number of your followers. You have to avoid sending the same messages, prepare the account for sending, and make all messages slightly different
 
Use Instagram naturally—avoid mass or repetitive DMs, and the spam filter is less likely to affect your account.
 
You should ask the recipient to accept the connection request or move the message to the spam/pending folder to build trust for future messages.
 
with 400 followers the filter is almost never about volume, its about sameness and intent. instagram flags dms that look templated: identical or near-identical text sent to people who dont follow you, and especially anything with a link or a promo hook in the very first message, that goes straight to the hidden requests folder. three things fix most of it. make the opening message genuinely different each time (not spun, actually different), never put a link or offer in the first dm, and open with a real question so THEY reply, because once they message back youre an active thread not a cold sender and the filter stops applying. if a chunk of the accounts you message dont follow you, expect requests-folder by default until the account has more trust age behind it.
 
I'd guess Instagram is treating your account like spam. Sending too many DMs too fast, using the same message repeatedly, or other repetitive activity can trigger the filter. I'd slow things down, warm the account up gradually, and make the messages look more natural instead of sending the same text every time
 
Warming up the account before sending any outreach helps too — a profile with some organic activity and a handful of real replies looks a lot less templated to the spam filter than a fresh account going straight into DMs.
 
If recipients start replying and accepting your messages consistently, Instagram is more likely to view your DMs as legitimate and reduce filtering.

If you're using the same account for this consistently, consider using a secondary account for outreach. Another way: try a different opening. Something that invites a reply. Like a question about their bio or recent post.
