HARO is dead for whitehat link building – agree or disagree?

Do you think a serious journalist from an authorithy newspaper/magazine will give you with a low authority DA website a ******** backlink? And their pricing plans are full restricted ,not worth to the to use it. It becomes quickly expensive when you want write 10 answers every day toget a good sum of backlinks every month.

I don't think it's dead, but I felt this was literally a high cost for me to find the right person to approach it, in my own Experience.

It does still work but not if you’re not very selective. I respond to only highly relevant inquiries in under five minutes, while being concise—the quality over quantity approach, 50

I think its still possible to get great links through HARO but its nowhere near as effective as it used to be, with so much competition the ROI has dropped significantly unless you have genuine expertise, respond quickly and consistently send high quality pitches.
For most businesses in 2026 id rather invest the time and budget into digital PR, niche outreach and earning editorial links through original content than rely heavily on HARO alone.

Technically HARO dont even exist anymore, it rebranded to Connectivley back in 2023. half the ppl still calling it "HARO" prob using an outdated process lol. for me response rate barely changed after the rebrand tbh, still same game, pitch fast n be genuinly relevant, most reporters ignore generic replies anyway. not dead, just need way more effort per link than 2020 imo

That's been my experience as well. The stronger your expertise and credibility, the better your chances. It's definitely not as easy as it once was.
I think AI has made it even tougher. Journalists probably receive far more responses now than they did a few years ago.
