Blogging is a long-term journey if you want profit from this journey. Sometimes it may give you short-term profit by following trends; it's common. But for sustainable growth, you must follow a long-time journey.

depend on choose niche to determine if blog page can serve for long year,some niches got low keywords to write about which limit the timing of the page for long term purpose.

Blogging is definitely a long term skill. It takes time to grow. It’s not a short term skill. If it grow then it’ll give you profit

Yes, blogging still matter in future for sure. Style of blogging has changed, AI, social media and video has grabbed the attention more. Generic articles will probably continue to lose value, but blogs that solve real problems and build authority will still have a place. I see blogging becoming more about quality and expertise than publishing large amounts of content.
 
Now is more important to be consistent with the posts to get attention of peoples. Is no longer enough just to make a post and abandon the project as you will simply not make any money this way. Consinstency is the key and willing to post even when you don't feel like is as well very important
