Just noticed that two answers on similar topics can get completely different results on quora. One answer might get tons of views and engagement while another with useful info gets little engagement. It made me think of what has the most effect on visibility.
Is it mostly the topic, the author's followers, timing or something else?
I would love to hear what others have seen while using the platform.

In my experience, it's a combination of topic, answer quality, and consistency. Some answers take time to gain traction, so I don't judge their performance too quickly.

Answers which are relevant, timely, and address popular questions always tend to have more hits.

Answers that provide helpful responses to common questions receive more views as they correspond to what the users are looking for.

Spot on about the Google traffic point. That explains the massive view gaps.
Is it mostly about hitting those high ranking questions early or does user formatting matter more for the algorithm?
Would love to hear what works best for everyone!

I think there is not a single factor, it's a combination of several factors.
Is it mostly the topic, the author's followers, timing or something else?
The topic and timing definitely matter, but early engagement can make a major difference. Once an answer starts getting upvotes and views, it may get more visibility. Followers can help with initial push, but in the long run, helpful answers that genuinely solve the user's question tend to perform better.

I believe that this is normally the case for a variety of reasons. Topic nd timing r important considerations, however, the manner in which an answer is delivered may prove to be very crucial as well. Sometimes it works best to deliver a short, relevant answer that resonattes well with people rather than a long detailed one.

In my experience, it's a mix of the topic, question traffic, answer quality, and early engagement. Followers can give an initial boost, but I've seen smaller accounts outperform bigger ones if the answer keeps people reading and getting upvotes. Quora's algorithm seems favor answer with strong retention and interaaction.

It is usually a combination of topic demand and timing. Answering questions that people are actively searching for seems to make a much bigger difference than just writing a detailed answer. Early engagement also appears to help quora keep showing the answer to more readers.

it depends on a set of factors, not just the quality of the answer itself. what i believe through my experiences Quora works better as a long-term authority-building platform rather than a place for quick promotion.
