Weird question, but I'm curious.
What's something everyone recommends that you completely stopped doing and your results got better?

The advice was to copy someone else. It was wrong.

Use what others do as a basis on what can work and what doesn't work. Then, based on that, start testing and see what works for you.

The true advice is to keep testing. You will find winners and losers, so then you stick to the losers and focus your effort in scaling it up.

i stopped chasing every “must do” seo tactic and started looking at what actually moved numbers in gsc. less random content, less random links, more updating pages that already had impressions. boring, but worked better.

I stopped switching ad networks every time my CPM dropped. Used to compare HilltopAds, MGID and a few others whenever I saw a dip. After a while I realized the network usually wasn’t the problem, it was my traffic. Since then I’ve spent more time fixing traffic quality instead of jumping between networks, and it’s been way more consistent.
