Renting Real Non-VOIP US Numbers Long Term

Hi There,

I manage multiple high value accounts in a variety of US states. For each account I need a real phone number. Predominantly for OTP codes, but occasionally replying to messages, and I will get called on this number and very occasionally have to call back.

What I'm currently doing:

  • I'm physically buying e-sims from US mobile providers ( Ultra, US-Mobile etc etc) . 8 e-sims per phone that I can receive texts, calls etc.

This is very costly and difficult to manage, I don't need the data or anything that comes with the e-sim. 90% is just OTP codes.

What I need.

  • Non-VOIP number -> These are extremely valuable accounts I don't want number causing flags.
  • Rent a number by Area code: e.g. 501 for Arkansas
  • 3 month - 1 year rental possible.
  • Replying to messages
  • If the number gets rung -> doesn't give away any flags ( would be good to ring through)

BONUS

Be able to call back -> I know this may be impossible so it's not a deal breaker -> would just have to change number to a real one if ever needed to do this.

I'm currently spending around $30 per month per sim so anything the same price or cheaper than this is suitable as long as it's simpler setup

But you cant pick area code.
 
Also Check Twillio they have API available, they are a bit expensive but they are very legit

SIMpro and Smspva offer "rental" but they're shared/recycled and most platforms (Meta, Google) flag those carrier-blocks fast. For high-value: buy refurbished US smartphones with prepaid T-Mobile/Mindspring SIMs ($25-30/mo each), keep them online via SIM hotel hardware (UMR or DinStar). Capex hurts but it's the only setup that survives KYC re-verification 6 months in.

Thanks for your advice, I'm also looking for same setup.
 
i would stop optimizing for cheaper OTP and towards consistency. the bigger flag is usually a mismatch between account identity, state and the number's history, not whether it can receive a text.

rented sounds nice until the line gets recycled/ported/used by too many other accounts. for important assets, boring and stable usually beats clever and cheap

If you need real long-term non-VOIP numbers with calls and replies, I would treat it like SIM inventory, not proxy inventory. The hard part is not OTP, it is keeping the same number believable months later.
 
A better idea to get non voip us number for long term is to use some sellers who offer mobile proxies as well. These already have physicial phones in US and can offer such service relatively easy to complement the earnings
 
One thing I'd also check is the history of the number itself. Even if it's a real non-VoIP line, a recently recycled number or one previously tied to lots of accounts can still create headaches. For long-term accounts I'd rather pay a bit more for a "boring" number with a clean history than optimize for the lowest monthly cost.
