If you're tired of guest post links that turn out to be PBNs, or sites where the traffic tanked by the time your content actually goes live - that's exactly what I check for before anything gets sent out. Every site is DR/DA verified, and I re-check live traffic right before ordering rather than relying on old catalog numbers.

Up to date metrics are certainly a good thing.

But traffic is just an indicator of health.
In most cases we are not getting any of that traffic.

Placement might still be valuable even if traffic drop is there, let's say from algo update hit.
If the guest post is interlinked properly and close to homepage, it would pass some juice nicely.

PS: Don't promote outside marketplace or you might get in trouble.

My tip: look at the site offering links, and see if they write off-topic articles with spammy anchor links. If you find even one, it's most likely a dressed up link farm backlink, which is a totally useless waste of money. Unless it's an editorial link on a niche-relevant website without link farm articles, hard pass. Usually it only takes 20 seconds or so to check.

Quality Control Tips gud one, but trafic alone will not suffice in 2026. I would focus on relevance, placements and outgoing links. Even a “DR clean website can serve as a link farm when its content fotprint is dirty.
