I was someone that felt SEO was a myth until yesterday when an article i published started making waves, sadly i dont use adsense because of the strict nature of the program but I'm focusing on direct ads only so i can get full control of my ads.
I implemented a push notification paywall to my site so articles are only shown to my subscribed readers is it a good idea or must i revert. Anyone else depending on direct ads and how has your journey been so far.

Push notification paywall can reduce traffic and hurt SEO because search engines and new visitors may not access your content. It's usually better to keep articles open, grow your audience first and use direct ads without restricting access.

you should not expose your website url here, just my advice

Long-term, increasing your subscription base is a good idea. This is because you don't need to rely on other websites because you have your own following. You should also make sure that new users who visit can see some of your material. If you don't, people may stop visiting your website, and you may see a decrease in the number of new visitors. This can affect your subscriber base. the quantity of users who frequently visit your website. Building your subscriber list is the key to having individuals who will always come back, to your website.

Congrats on the ranking and that first win always feels great.
Locking content too early behind a paywall or heavy gating can limit SEO growth especially when you are still building authority. It can reduce indexing and organic reach. I have usually had better results keeping core content fully accessible for search traffic and monetizing through ads or conversions once the site has steady visibility.
