We all know that driving traffic is crucial in internet marketing recently I learned about answer engine optimization (AEO) Which involves optimizing content for AI tools like ChatGPT ,Copilot, and Gemini, has anyone here been working on this type of optimization? If so , what is your strategy? I would appreciate it if you could share your insights

Both are important, but both together will provide the most optimal visibility through both search engines and artificial intelligence.

SEO provides search engine traffic while AEO helps you feature in AI-driven answers.

@Steptoe is kinda right about it being SEO done right, but there is a bit of a difference if you want to game the LLMs. If you want to show up in ChatGPT or Perplexity, you need to focus on where they actually pull their live data from. Right now they rely super heavily on Reddit, Quora, and big news sites. Standard schema on your own site is fine, but seeding brand mentions on these external platforms is way more effective for AEO. Its basically entity association. If the AI sees your brand mentioned next to the keyword across multiple trusted sites, it starts recommending you in the chat outputs. Standard SEO helps but off-page seeding is where the real AEO is at right now.

You haven't been putting citations and branded links on UGC sites before LLMs came out? That's been part of standard SEO even before this decade mate.

You have to optimise your content specifically for questions and answers. Old headlines do not work anymore.

You are right, I also think so. Basically, this is the difference between SEO and AEO.
