Why do some quora answers get attention even when they are not detailed ?

Sometimes a very long and detailed answer gets fewer views or engagement compared to a shorter answer that is more direct or easier to read.

It makes me wonder whether structure and readability matter more than depth in many cases.

Even when two answers are correct, the way they are written seems to change how people respond to them.

Have others noticed this pattern while writing or reading answers?

From depth of information or simplicity of presentation what do you think influences engagement more on Quora ?

I have noticed that too. On quora, clarity and quick readability often matters more than length. If an answer gets to the point early and is easy to scan then it tends to perform better even if it is shorter. Long answers can work as well but only if they stay very structured and easy to follow.

I think it comes down to how we consume content today—we are all looking for the 'gold nugget' without the clutter. A short answer is often seen as more 'respectful' of a reader's time. But at the same time, I find that when I really need to solve a complex problem, I’m searching for that detailed, expert-level response.

In my experience, it is not about writing more instead it is about making the answer easy to understand. A short, useful answer often performs better than a long one.

Accounts with more credibility or followers may get more attention even with simple answers. what i believe through my experiences engagement like upvotes, comments and shares can boost visibility quickly regardless of detail level.
