Why so many sites are de-indexing recently on Google?

I've had this sudden de-indexation wave across multiple ai blog projects with insanely good EEAT (acquired via scummy means) and backlinking. And my content was by no means generic AI copy pasted slop either. The articles were written with recursive prompting via Claude and actually offered good insights.
Google is just being the usual scumbags they are.

You're absolutely right.
Google has definitely become more aggressive post-HCU (Helpful Content Update) and core updates. From what I’m seeing, deindexing isn’t just about thin content anymore — it’s often a combination of factors:


  • AI-generated or low-effort content without real value
  • PBNs or spammy backlink patterns that used to fly under the radar
  • Sites lacking E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness)
  • Over-optimization, doorway pages, or aggressive interlinking

Also noticing some mass deindexing of parasite SEO pages — especially on Web 2.0s, expired domains, and even hacked pages. Google’s clearly cleaning house.


Would love to hear others’ experiences — are your whitehat sites safe, or is this hitting everyone?
 
Because Google’s recent spam and quality updates are removing low-value, thin, or AI-heavy pages to clean up the search index.
 
I went back through one of my stacks today and yeah. Not sure if this is normal when it comes to PBN to stuff but I had to reindex several domains. They only had the homepages indexed. I just hate to see how much the beat down the Web 2.0s.
 
I have noticed the same thing too
In many cases it's caused by Google's recent updates, thin or low quality content, poor indexing signals, spam issues or technical problems.

If the site has original content, is technically sound and gets updated regularly, it has a better chance of staying indexed. It's worth checking Search Console first to see if Google reports any specific issues.
 
i would say websites which are not updated regularly or have low quality may be more likely to lose indexed pages.
 
I think Google has become much stricter about overall site quality Sites with helpful content a clean backlink profile and a good user experience seem to be holding up better than those relying on shortcuts.
 
google has definitely become stricter but i don't think it's targeting sites randomly the sites that continue publishing useful content and maintaining a clean backlink profile seem to recover much more easily
 
Dont know why but some of my websites also facing the same issue, where all my contents and website structure are good. Desktop and mobile friendly. They appeared for some days, then gone again. :)
 
A lot of people blame random core updates, but it usually comes down to basic quality control. If your site structure confuses Google's crawlers or your links look unnatural, you are going to get hit eventually.

I think Google is looking at the overall quality of a site, not justt one factor. Sites with thin/less content, unnatural link patterns and a disorganised structure seem to be the most affected.
 
quality contentand strong site structure matter more than shortcuts now.
