Taboola High CTR but High Bounce Rate – Is Landing Page Issue?

even small differences between the ad promise and the first screen of the landing page can make a noticeable difference in bounce rate

I’ve already seen a lot of useful suggestions in this thread.

I have one more suggestion: display the form, sign-up, or purchase button only after the user has finished reading the article. The button copy should align with the content's context, for example, "get the full analysis report" or "get a free assessment now."

High CTR with a high bounce rate often means there is a mismatch between the ad and the landing page. Make sure the headline and content match what the ad promises.

CTR does not guarantee quality traffic in native ads. Sometimes misleading or overly curiosity driven headlines bring clicks but weak engagement.

Hey everyone
I’m running Taboola campaigns and getting a pretty good CTR, but the problem is users are bouncing very fast after clicking.
I’m trying to understand what’s going wrong and if it’s related to the landing page or traffic quality.

What I’m seeing:
  • Good CTR from Taboola ads
  • Very high bounce rate on landing page
  • Low time on site / weak engagement
Now I’m wondering if the landing page should be different for native traffic compared to Google traffic. Maybe users from Taboola expect a different style or flow?
Has anyone dealt with this before? Would you optimize the same page or create a separate native-friendly landing page?
Any insights would be really helpful
Thanks.
In most cases, you should not use the same page for Google and Taboola. Native traffic usually needs a softer, more story driven landing page.

Maybe your target audience is inaccurate? You can also try to modify the ad content so that the sales purpose is not too strong...

Native traffic usually needs a different landing page style, try matching the ad message with the page and focus on improving the first few seconds of user experience.
