Has LinkedIn replaced cold email for B2B client acquisition?

Cold email still works for some people but I keep hearing more agencies say they're getting better results from LinkedIn through networking and content instead of outreach. If you have tested both which channel has produced higher-quality conversations and better long-term clients?

Linkedin has not replaced cold email but it just changed approach. Email can still work for volume while linkedin is better for building trust before the conversation starts. The best results usually come from combining both instead of relying on one channel.

When you are an authority in a sector, people come to you themselves; in the pest control sector where I'm at if they know us on LinkedIn through their acquaintances then they know what good work we are doing to get rid of pests. Therefore LinkedIn is a money producing lead machine for us because people want the best and we are the best in this sector.
 
Both can work, but I have found LinkedIn usually brings higher-quality conversations because trust is built before the sales pitch. Cold email can scale faster, but relationships from networking often turn into better long-term clients.

I think that’s true. Nowadays, Linkedin is a highly effective marketing platform for finding B2B customers. I’ve run a few campaigns there myself, and the results have been quite good.

Cold email is still the best approach. Linkedin is good for B2B but it didn't replace cold email at all
 
In my experience linkedin has been better for building trust while cold email is still useful for reaching people quickly. The best results came from combining both. People who had already seen my posts on linkedin were much more likely to reply when i contacted them later.
 
At mass - cold outreach via the open profile inamil method rips - comparable to cold email with a good list, we can easily hit 5-6% response rates (personalized copy, non-ESP matched, basic spintaxing, 75/25 MS:GGL) - but on LinkedIn via the open profile inmail method, with piss poor personalization we can easily do 12-15% response rates.

It's just the scale that's the hardest to achieve, you can only really do 15-20 inmails per day before LinkedIn stops you from sending out more. But.. it does work well, albeit not a fan of the connect -> message flow, creates so much friction and gets in the way of achieving scale.

Multichannel approach is best. People see their emails, and they remember your brand name, but they're less likely to reply there than if you also socialize with them on LI and call them, if cold calling is part of your outreach.
 
I think LinkedIn is gradually replacing cold emails as a more effective way to reach potential customers. People tend to trust you more on LinkedIn because your professional presence is much more transparent and credible than a cold email.

as of yet they have not - but it might be on the way at some point
 
both can work. LinkedIn is more effective when combined with cold emailing.
 
Anyone use any Linkedin-specific tools or all manual? I'm wondering about connecting and auto messaging in a non-spam way.
 
Yes. LinkedIn has become one of the most effective channels for B2B. Building relationships before pitching usually leads to much better results than cold emails.
