im new to all of this stuff, and i wanted to ask 2 things

1. i dont mind just paying for someone or a service where they guarantee rankings boosting, however we are a franchise and we dont have access or freedom with our website n stuff like that, only access our GMB

2. ive been hearing about the GPS spoofing stuff simluating drivers for boosting. i dont mind paying for a service to do this if theres a reliable one and its still a method that works. or i had 2 ideas for running my own setup, either a jailbroken phone with spoofing and detection bypasses etc or a GrapheneOS setup with multiple profiles n stuff idk

lmk ur guys thoughts on both

Yeah can help, check your pm

If you only control the GMB, focus on what you can actually influence reviews, accurate categories, photos, posts, and consistent NAP citations. Those alone can improve local visibility.

GPS spoofing might move the needle briefly, but it’s usually unstable. Building real engagement and steady reviews tends to hold rankings longer.

There are only 1 or 2 members who can guarantee you rankings for your local business, depending on how tough your competition is and where your business is located.

You can do that too, but you will need a proper setup with multiple proxies and phones to start with, and finding a reliable service like this here is really difficult, but you can try asking in the HAF section.

Also, you can try CTR manipulation if you are going this route.

GPS spoofing used to be discussed a lot a few years ago, but nowadays Google is much better at detecting unnatural location activity. Most people I know in local SEO avoid it because it can easily trigger flags or suspensions.

If you only have access to the GMB profile and not the website, there are still a few things that can help improve local rankings:

  • Make sure your primary and secondary categories are optimized
  • Add photos regularly (Google tends to reward active profiles)
  • Use the Google Posts feature weekly
  • Encourage real customers to leave reviews and respond to them
  • Keep NAP data consistent across directories and citations
In many cases, consistent activity and reviews will move rankings more safely than trying spoofing techniques.

if you only control the GBP and not the website, then your leverage is mostly inside the profile itself. focus on things that actually move map pack signals, reviews velocity, correct category, services filled out, photos, posts, and consistent NAP citations across directories. steady real reviews usually move the needle faster than anything else.
about the gps spoofing / driving simulation stuff, it’s very hit or miss now. google has gotten much better at filtering fake direction requests and behavioral manipulation. sometimes it gives a short bump, but it’s unstable and listings can get flagged.
honestly the safer play is building strong local signals around the listing. proximity, reviews, and local relevance usually matter more than trying to game behavioral signals.

Thanks for your reply. Our local competitors are definitely raping us, but they do have an advantage. We run a med spa, our IV business is definitely the most $$ making, but our local competitors are "Prime IV" and that alone in their business name I think is helping them rank very high alone, because people will search "IV near me" or whatever and they already have the advantage.

I was considering adding "+ IV Therapy" in your GMB name but I heard its risky and can get our profile terminated. Thoughts?

I also have a gut feeling that our Primary and Secondary services are not done optimally, we only got our GMB recently and whoever set our services section up, I think it was done years ago and has not been updated since. Do you know where or who I go to to double check this and optimize it?

I’d avoid GPS spoofing methods and instead invest in legit local SEO signals like citations, reviews, and local backlinks for long-term stability
Thanks for your reply. I agree with what you said, I do think our categories or services whatever is not optimized, I think it is outdated from years ago from someone at corporate and is hurting our rankings. Do you know where I go to find out more about that stuff and make sure its optimized? And how would I go about investing in citations and backlinks?

Thanks for your reply, very high quality. We do add a lot of photos and encourage our clients to leave us reviews WITH photos attached, and we make sure we reply to all reviews within 24-48 hours. We do posts but not weekly, we will start doing that, thank you. Now with "Make sure your primary and secondary categories are optimized", I have a gut feeling that our categories and services are not optimized, maybe not even done correctly, and definitely dated. How would I go about making sure it's done in the best way? Person on this foum, youtube video? etc?

Also, I can easily chatGPT what NAP data means but it would be best if you clarified with an example what you mean with NAP data? We are Med Spa business if that helps you at all. haha.

Thanks again!

Thanks for your reply! Do you know if it's worth getting fake reviews? Nothing major but maybe an extra 20-50 a month or something at a slowish rate? We ask our clients to leave reviews but we average maybe 8 a month or so if I had to guess - also, before we took over the business, the old ownership had like 20 1 star reviews ( out of 500 ) and that unfortuantely has 1 of our locations stuck at a 4.8 Google ranking, any ideas on getting rid of those reviews? It would cost me like $5k to remove all of them lol.

Now, for "correct category, services filled out," I am almost certain out services are not filled out correctly/optimally. We recently got access to our GMB profile and I think whoever set it up at corporate years ago did it once and now it hasn't been touched since and I don't think it's done correctly. Can you point me in a direction on learning more about this and making sure its optimal? Wether thats a thread or person on this forum or a youtube vid etc, I would very much appreciate it!

GPS spoofing for GBP still works but quality varies a lot by service provider. For a franchise with only GMB access your best ROI is reviews and Q&A optimization anyway, that moves the needle without needing site access.

If the competitor has keyword in their business name that would surely help them but not for all cases. Even businesses without keywords will rank fine if they are optimized.

And yes, if you change your business name now, google will surely ask you for video verification if it didn't suspend your business.

And you can easily optimize your services in gmb by going to the admin section in GMB, there will be section called services, there you can add many services that you want related to your niche and business.

We have our services filled out, I just suspect it's done wrong or not optimized at least. I am looking for a person to ask or some place to go to verify my suspicion.

Like i said, if you want to clear your suspicion, you need to go to the admin site of the GMB. Only there you will be able to optimize your services. If your services are filled out, check them again and see what gaps you can fill there.

no im asking how i can actually make sure its done correctly and optimized. the services are listed and its done, however, i think it just looks weird and its done incorrectly. i was asking for a resource to verify my shit is optimized

If you only have access to the Google Business Profile (GMB), you can still improve local rankings significantly. Focus on safe and proven methods:
Get consistent real reviews and reply to every review.
Fully optimize your GMB profile (categories, services, photos, business description).
Increase local relevance by mentioning nearby areas in posts and updates.
Publish regular GMB posts (offers, updates, news).
Avoid risky tactics like GPS spoofing, as they can violate Google policies and lead to suspension.
In local SEO, real reviews, an active profile, and strong local relevance signals usually make the biggest difference in rankings.

The smartest move is to focus on real ranking signals, fully optimized profile, accurate services, consistent NAP, strong review flow, fresh photos, and regular posts. I’d avoid spoofing or fake-driver methods because they’re risky and usually don’t create lasting results thats the best i can say open to hear my fellow mates

what i believe through my experiences is having a complete business profile, accurate contact information and regular updates can help improve visibility.
