Internal linking actually helped my rankings or just a coincidence?

I have a blog with around 60 posts. Never really paid attention to internal linking, just added links here and there randomly. Last month I spent 2 days fixing the internal link structure properly and some pages jumped from page 3 to page 1.
After you finished optimizing the internal links, how many days later did you notice a change in rankings?

Honestly did not expect this at all. No new backlinks, no content update, just internal linking changes.

Is this normal or did I just get lucky with a Google update? Anyone else seen results just from fixing internal links?
Internal linking is the most of the highest ROI and SEO

This is not your luck, this is normal for everyone. Internal linking is the best tactic which actually works for everyone.

I dont think that is just luck. I had a few pages move up after I cleaned up my internal links too.Nothing huge, but it made me realize I had been overlooking something pretty simple.

That's completely possible. A strong internal linking structure helps Google understand page relevance and distributes authority more effectively. I've seen ranking improvements from internal link optimization alone, especially on established sites.
