Noticed that some quick answers get far more views than detailed ones posted later. Has anyone else seen this ? Do you think being early on a question matters more than writing the best answer?
I think both are important, but responding early usually has an advantage. After that, the quality of the content is what determines whether the post will retain views in the long term.
I think timing definitely helps but i have also seen older answers gain traction after being updated with better information. If a question has long term search interest then improving an existing answer can still bring good results even if you were not the first to reply.
Yeah, timing seems to matter a lot now. Being early definitely helps you get visibility before the thread gets crowded, even if later answers are more detailed. It feels more like "first good answer wins attention," not just "best answer wins."
