The internet is a lot faster and filled with AI now, and I guess you could say “smarter.” But, sometimes I think people feel like the internet lost it’s special something.

I personally just miss simple websites, and active forums, where people wanted to have discussions instead of chasing views and engagement.

What's one thing from the internet 10 years ago you wish you could bring back?

I think it’s active forums and the real communities that filled them.

Can’t wait to read your comments! : )

Search results you could actually trust. Ten years back you searched something and the top hits were sites that knew the topic, not a 2,000 word AI essay wrapped around an affiliate link with the real answer buried on page 3.

Forums like this are one of the last spots where a real person just tells you the thing -> which is why I still hang around like a bad smell.

How seemingly non corporate it was.

Dunno but it seemed more fun back then.

honestly the thing i miss most is stumbling onto some random personal site that was just... a guy's hobby. no popups, no newsletter signup sliding in, no cookie banner. just somebody who really cared about model trains or old synths putting up pages because they wanted to.

forums too yeah but that part is kinda still alive in pockets, you just have to look harder.

the thing that's gone for good imo is the patience. people used to write long thoughtful replies to strangers for no reason. now everything's optimized for a quick reaction and then you scroll. search being trustworthy is a big one too, agree with that, but i think it's downstream of the same thing... everyone chasing the click killed it.

bitcoins price? I want to bring it back under one dollar and buy thousands and let it bearish.
I agree with this as it has been a biggest regret based on my investment portfolio.
