I’m exploring X (formerly Twitter) and trying to understand which growth methods are still effective in 2025 without risking account limits or violating any platform or BHW rules. This thread is strictly for discussion only no selling, no links, no promotions.

Some things I’m curious about:

What type of content performs best on X this year?

Are hashtags still useful, or has their impact dropped?

Any safe tools for scheduling, analytics, or engagement tracking?

Does posting frequency matter more than posting quality now?

Have you noticed changes in the algorithm that affect reach?

X still works very well for me, but a few things have changed.

Content: Short, conversational posts that spark replies and discussions still outperform everything else. Threads work too, but single tweets with a clear hook and relatable take get faster engagement. Pure promo posts basically die unless you have a huge following.

Hashtags: They’re not useless, but their impact has dropped. One or two highly relevant hashtags is enough; using too many looks spammy and doesn’t help reach much anymore.

Tools: Scheduling tools like Buffer or TweetHunter for safe scheduling/analytics work fine. Anything that automates likes or mass DMs is a red flag and can get you shadowbanned. Engagement tracking via analytics dashboards helps plan content without breaking rules.

Frequency vs. Quality: Quality definitely beats sheer volume. Posting too often with weak content doesn’t move the needle and can hurt engagement rate. Posting 2-5 strong posts a day consistently works better than 10 weak ones.

Algorithm: Early engagement is huge. The first hour after posting is what sets how far your content will go. Replies, quote tweets, and likes in that window make a big difference. Also, accounts that interact naturally in their niche tend to get more push than accounts just broadcasting content.

yep. also thought id post my dm conversion here people always are making sure mass dms dont go to spam however every guy checks it outta curiosity, i get so many follows i check the dms with them and the dm has been sent they have not accepted it yet they like the content so they follow

These are pretty good results! And sometimes DMs are the main problem yeah. How much time did it take you to have a setup like that?

I have a quick side question: In addition to the standard interaction bots (like, repost, or reply), is a DM bot still necessary? Does it help the account gain better visibility, or what is its purpose?

Or, do you simply use the DM bot to reply to incoming user messages? I don't quite understand; could you explain the matter to me briefly?
 
Honestly, on X now, posting useful, short content regularly and replying to people works way better than chasing hacks or hashtags.

i only use x bots for dms, it depends on my model niche but for my asian creator i just do dms like do you like asian girls? works a treat
 
Ah, thank you for the explanation. My niche market is different; visibility is the most important thing for me. I thought that using DMs would help the account get prioritized visibility. Thank you for clarifying.
 
Relatable, high quality content works best. Engagement beats hashtags and frequency trusted tools help grow safely.
 
Post short, high-value content consistently (2–5/day), focus on threads, visuals, and insights, ignore hashtags, use safe scheduling tools, and avoid spammy automation that’s the safest way to grow on X in 2025.

  • Pacing: Do not send all 500 DMs at once. Firing off too many messages rapidly will trigger temporary restrictions.
  • Duplicate Content: Sending the exact same message or link to multiple accounts can cause the system to temporarily block you from sending DMs for at least 30 minutes.
  • how you do these automated dms are they all using single proxy or same for all? and do you spin texts for dms? thanks.
 
DMs won't help reach from what I've seen, theyre just a funnel thing after the account already gets attention. For visibility the boring stuff still wins... replies under bigger niche accounts, quote posts with actual opinion, and posting when your audience is awake. Hashtags only seem useful in communities or event/news stuff, otherwise they make the post look kinda cheap. Premium helps a bit with trust/limits, but it doesnt save a bad account from looking spammy.
