They are very depending on the source if you use like marketplaces like fiverr you will have a hard time to get the quality ones. If you build or use someone with experience that just don't spam them you can get still great benefitst from them is all about how are they managed
 
yes , it does still work, but they are risky if not built carefully , they can lead to penalities .today most seo experts prefer high quality , natural backlinks instaed of PBNs.
 
Yes pbn backlinks still work but only if done properly, clean niche relevant well built pbns boost rankings, cheap, spammy pbns will do nothing or even hurt your site, so it's not dead just risky if done wrong
 
PBNs still work but only if they look like real sites and stay niche relevant. Cheap networks built only for links usually leave a spam footprint and get ignored over time. I have seen far better results from a few quality PBN links than from blasting hundreds of weak ones.

still works if built/managed properly, footprint mistakes are what actually get sites burned not the concept itself
 
Of course they are. Id say PBNs are the most costeffective way to build links to your website. 1 guest post could cost starting from 50-70 usd per 1 link. Within this budget you can find 3-4 dropped domains with some backlinks and create links from the main pages to your website.
 
Lmao fair point. PBNs still work imo, but buying random links from a public network usually means buying someone else’s footprint too.
 
PBNs can still work in some cases, but it really depends on how they are built and maintained.

If the network is clean, well structured, with decent aged domains and relevant content, it can still pass some authority signals.

But the risk is also higher now compared to before.

A lot of PBNs on the market are low quality, overused domains or footprints that can easily be detected, and those can definitely do more harm than good.

So I’d say it’s not about “PBNs work or don’t work” anymore, it’s more about quality and risk management.

I see PBNs as one option not the whole strategy a balanced backlink profile with different types of links has given me more consistent results
 
i wouldn't build a backlink strategy around PBNs alone a mix of different link sources has always been a safer approach in my experience

@Venusaur is half right -> ask a link seller if links work and you already know the answer. So here's the version that actually costs me money to say out loud.

The word "PBN" is doing way too much work in this thread. A network of sites you'd be embarrassed to show a client -> thin content, same hosting, the same five outbound niches, built only to link out -> that isn't a strategy, it's a footprint with a domain attached. Google doesn't penalise "PBNs", it penalises patterns, and that is a pattern a part-timer could spot.

The other end of it is sites that are just real. Aged, actual content, their own traffic, a link sitting on the homepage the way a normal sponsor would. One legal-docs site we work with went DR 78 to 84 and 11k to 25k organic a month while carrying links the entire time. Same "PBN" mechanic on paper. Completely different outcome, because there was nothing to find.

So the question isn't "do PBNs still work." It's "would this link survive someone actually looking at it." If the honest answer is no, the DR number doesn't matter, you're just renting risk.
 
It depend on your backlink and best is you use both together PBN and buying random links from a public network .
 
Even if PBNs can still meddle with third party metrics like Domain Authority, it doesn’t mean DA is actually used by Google in the rankings. So the main thing is really the danger. Low quality PBNs or those that are too easy to recognize can leave a link footprint that feels unnatural, you know. And in 2026, I’d rather put money into relevant editorial mentions that bring long term value, instead of leaning on PBNs, even if they seem tempting at first.
