Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed that many users continue to use threads to share detailed thoughts, case studies, and industry insights.
Do you think threads are still the most effective format for delivering value and driving engagement on Twitter, or are shorter posts performing better now?
Would love to hear your experience

I think the X threads are better, if they are really useful and with attracting media files they usually work very good

threads still have their place but the algo has definitely shifted toward single long-form posts lately. if you have premium, writing one cohesive long post usually gets way better reach than a 10-part thread now. people just have thread fatigue... plus the read-through rate on the last few tweets in a thread is usually garbage anyway. best setup right now is a short punchy post triggering an auto-dm sequence if you actually want leads.

I think short posts get more attention at first, but good threads keep people reading longer and build more trust.

In my opinion, threads and short posts both have their place. If I want to share a case study or explain something in detail then I use a thread. But if I want to share quick tips or opinions, then I found shorter posts better for engagement.

X threads plays out better with a list, this opening for example - 10 symptoms that makes you an attractive person, gets readers scanning through the lists step by step, also, they get to respond using a specific number that made much meaning to their personality. X users prefer threads that has so much do with the way they think or behave.

what's worked for me lately is kinda splitting the difference... i open with one strong standalone post that can live on its own, then drop the "deeper breakdown below" as a reply only if the first one starts moving. that way the thread isnt carrying the whole thing on its back and the algo already saw the main post as a single banger.

threads still convert when the topic actually needs steps or a story, but i stopped forcing them. half my old 8 part threads had people dropping off by part 3 anyway. the listicle style still works tho, numbers do something to people, they cant help but reply with "number 4 is so me" lol.

honestly depends what youre optimizing for. reach? single post wins most days now. trust and saves and people coming back? a tight thread still does heavy lifting. id test both on the same idea for a week and just watch which one your specific audience rewards, every niche behaves a little different.

That is actually very smart! And yeah I agree a shorter form post is better for reach.

yeah the dropoff on threads is brutal now, usually not worth the effort to write 10 parts when everyone leaves after the second tweet. i only really use them now to pin on the profile as a sort of landing page for new followers to see some authority.

for daily feed reach, a short hook that baits an auto-dm for the actual case study is pulling way better numbers. plus x absolutely kills reach on any post with an external link anyway so keeping them in the dms is the only way to scale.

Yes, threads continue to be one of the best ways to disseminate information.
