Shadowban, or X is bugged?

I've noticed that for the past two weeks, all of my posts on X have barely had any engagement. Interestingly, when I search for my account, I can still see my new posts under the "Top" tab

However, none of the posts I've made over the last two weeks are showing up in the "Latest" section (only the old tweets from weeks ago), even though they appear in "Top."

Does anyone know why this is happening, or has anyone else noticed this issue? I've been on X for many years and I haven't seen anything like this until now, so I'm not sure how to deal with this, and the generic shadowban checkers indicate that everything is okay.

Most likely not a shadowban. If your posts still show under “Top,” it’s more an algorithm or ranking issue. X now prioritizes engagement over chronological “Latest” visibility.

try posting plain text with no links or hashtags and see if Latest visibility returns. logging out and checking your profile from a fresh browser confirms whether others can see your posts in Latest aswell.

From what I've noticed X has a lot of these random bugs , so I'd say that's the case for you as well.

I have checked from 2 other accounts in app and in web browser, same results, and during this time I also noticed some of my posts disappearing from the "latest" section and remaining on the "top" section, I made test tweets that didn't show up at all, and I made another one today that didn't even show up in any of the sections I mentioned.

And if it's related to ranking issues what should I do? Should I just keep posting in this current state anyways or try to wait it out?

its not a shadowban or deboost. twitter is just changing algorithm too much and its ruining the website. Search on twitter "algorithm reach" everyone is complaining about it

Have you changed anything recently? Posting frequency, content type, links, or engagement patterns can sometimes affect how widely posts are distributed.

It’s not really a shadowban but rather more like a ranking/filtering process being applied. X doesn’t promote new content to “Latest” if the account doesn’t have high engagement recently. “Top” works, however, as it’s an algorithmic feed, whereas Latest lags behind or behaves strangely when it comes to indexing and quality evaluation. Maybe check whether recent content receives impressions but no distribution

Since your posts appear at "top" I believe it's a bug.

Ever since I noticed the issue I stopped posting like I used to do, i have tried making simple posts to see what happens but nothing has changed at all.

I just find it odd considering that all of the posts I have are on the thousands of likes, so I don't believe it's an engagement issue, but well, this is Twitter, so who knows.

Before assuming it's a shadowban, you should give it a little more time. Recently, X has made a lot of changes to how posts are indexed and seen, so posts don't always show up in search results.

Honestly, now any new post I make, don't even appear in "top" anymore. I'm not sure what to think about this anymore

That's weird. If your posts show up in Top but not Latest, it could just be an indexing issue.
Have you posted more often recently or used automation?

X search is completely broken to be honest, i dont know how anyone is using it now. Before you could create a ragebait post, screenshot it and post it on facebook to drive some traffic back to X, but now that is useless

I just made another account and focus on that one while the other one rests, I have tried again today and that account is still having issues for some reason, its been more than 3 weeks already

3 weeks and a fresh account still having the same issues kinda rules out the trust score reset theory imo. if a brand new account is also getting filtered then its probably not your old account being penalized, more like something on the network/IP side or just X search being broken for a chunk of accounts right now.

couple things i'd actually check before waiting it out more... are you posting from the same IP or device for both accounts? if your old one tripped something and you spun the new one up on the same connection that can carry over. also check your analytics for impressions, not likes. you keep saying your posts get thousands of likes but the question is are the new ones getting impressions at all or basically zero. those are two different problems.

honestly the disappearing from Top too is the weird part. that points more to indexing than ranking. ranking would still keep you in Top just lower. vanishing completely usually means the post isnt being indexed at all which is more of a backend thing than a penalty.

i'd stop making new test posts every day tbh, that pattern can look spammy on its own. give the main account a real break, post from a different connection on the new one and see if that one indexes normal. if it does you found your answer.

I use the mobile app on my own phone and usually the same IP (Wi-Fi or mobile data). I've rotated through many accounts that have been banned and later restored on this device, and I've never had any issues until now.

I've also been running small tests on 4 other accounts, not including the one with the issue. All of them can post to Latest without any problems except for one account that was restored over a month ago. What's weird is that I know that this account could post to Latest not long ago, although I can't confirm exactly when this started happening.

All of the test posts were text-only, manually posted (not automated), and they received the expected impressions and visibility.

This wasn't happening at the beginning, but started happening after i started doing some tests on the affected account, new posts aren't being indexed any moreas if it was some short of shadow ban.

It does not sound like a shadowban to me. If your posts are still appearing under top, your account is probably fine. X has been a bit inconsistent lately, so you should wait a few more days before worrying too much.

I have been posting on a new account normally as i would do on the affected account for the past week, and while the posts were only showing up in "top", today they stopped showing up even there after 1 week exactly.

Im not a fan of bumping old threads, but after reviewing some of my accounts today again, I confirmed they are dealing with both a search suggestion ban (which was somewhat expected given the nature of the content) and a full search ban.

Are there any recommended strategies or best practices to follow when an account is hit with a search ban?

Currently, new posts are still failing to index under the 'Latest' tab on any of the accounts. Meanwhile, on the 'Top' tab, content takes several hours to finally appear.
