Is youtube actually already "dead"?

For yt chanels I watched, all of them, no exception, comparing to years before, Traffic dropped significantly, some of them even dropped to almost like 1/10, all original content chanels.
years before, yes I can also see some chanels traffic dropped , but I can also come accross to many new chanels traffic surged significantly, but now? I didn't find any new chanels like these.
it looks like yt traffic already gone to somewhere else like tiktok?
I hope what I saw is wrong, hopefully you can give a totally different story.

I don't understand why you say that. From what I can see, YouTube is still performing very well, and many creators continue to earn a substantial income from it. While it may not be as easy as it was in the past, it remains an excellent platform for making money.
 
Every now and then I hear people say YouTube that, but new creators keep popping up and getting millions of views...
Youtube is the biggest platform right now, just so you know.
 
Probably you need to focus on enhancing your content, thumbnail, and SEO. YouTube is performing well.
 
I don't think YouTube is dead but it's definitely more competitive than it used to be Audience habits have changed and many creators now split their attention across platforms like Shorts TikTok and Instagram instead of relying on YouTube alone.

Can you show me some new chanels that traffic surged significantly recently? Don't have to be your own, or contents you are making related.
Actually there are also of my new interesting contents, recommended by yt, I never watched those chanels before recommended by yt, also big drop on traffic, no difference.

It is not my chanels ,actually I want to be a content creator for years, but for some reasons not started yet, but for what I saw recently, I suspected if it can still be profitable.
Yes it is definitely very profitable years before at least for some guys, but now , seems not good.
I am talking about original contents, not those copied, you know there is big cost when it comes to original contents.
 
It's not dead, just what people are looking for and watching changed, so it's natural for old channels/videos to drop, while newer more interesting/other niches ones to grow.

Yt isn't dead, its algorithm has changed!! They keep changing the pattern of the algo every year since 2022 and later and youtube doesn't reward creativity or originality anymore, although of course a few channels may blow up, but the current algo just promotes the same topics done by multiple different creators. This is a really good time to start channels by just copying videos that have got millions of views and get the same kind of success, however do keep in mind youtube still prioritizes quality on the content even if it is copied, so focus on retention, ctr and etc, mainly do videos on topics that have already proven to get millions of views.
 
I’m not sure why you say that. From what I’ve seen, YouTube is still thriving, and many creators continue to earn a significant income from it. While it’s true that success isn’t as easy as it used to be, it’s still one of the best platforms for making money if you consistently create quality content.

Content creation veterans confirm that YouTube traffic has not vanished but rather shifted dramatically as the algorithm heavily prioritizes Shorts over traditional long form homepage placements, while audience attention is continuously fragmented across millions of new creators instead of concentrating on a few established channels.
 
if creators don't adapt to trends and keep up with the times, their channel eventually burn out. thats pretty logical, and you've probably noticed it yourself. Some niches are evergeen, but they probably make up only around 10% of the market
 
YouTube isn't dead yet, but its traffic is limited by many other entertainment apps.

The traffic hasn't actually gone to TikTok ,it's because Ytb algorithm has heavily redirected traffic to short videos and viewers of longer videos are becoming increasingly demanding, meaning only channels that truly optimize the user experience and retain viewers effectively can maintain their viewership.

For nowadays, Youtube reach is lamot dead. I see many genuine creator who create authentic content but they don't get reach all their expectation. Few years ago youtube pay high reach to genuine content creator. Now a problem from many country that the revenue is very cheap. So that many people stop creating videos

I've noticed that too. YouTube feels much more competitive now, and viewer attention is spread across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Shorts.
There are still channels growing fast, but it's harder than before. Consistency, niche selection, and strong retention seem to matter much more now than simply uploading good content.
 
Plenty of new channels are still growing fast. The difference is they're usually filling a specific niche, posting consistently, and adapting to what viewers want today rather than relying on strategies that worked years ago.
