Hey everyone, I'm Denіs - based in Europe.

Got about 8 years in e-commerce, then switched to affiliate in search arbitrage for a couple of years. Now I'm working in VPN affiliate program.

Yes, it's still profitable. I worked in the affiliate network model, while my friends worked as media buyers in this vertical.
Like any vertical, it has its own specifics and challenges, but a big plus is that it's a white-hat vertical. You can receive money officially and manage it without any issues. The margins aren't massive, but it's worth exploring to see if it fits your goals.
