Every host seems great at first, then issues start showing up
What's the best hosting provider you've used and what made you stick with them?
Also what's the worst hosting experience you've had :Short, natural, and easy for people to reply to

I've switched hosts a few times over the years. The biggest reason I stay with a provider now is reliability and responsive support. Saving a little money isn't worth it if the site keeps going down or support takes too long to respond. My worst experience was unexpected downtime during a busy period. Since then, I always look at uptime and support quality before pricing.
 
I’m sorry but why would u choose any host? If you have a bunch of sites, paying even $1 per site is a ripoff. Use your PC, download codex, buy a cheap vps. Tell codex to host your websites on that VPS. Done. Money saved and ur in control of ur hosting. Also route that traffic through cloudflare
 
@Luca1234 has a point about using a cheap VPS, it saves a ton of cash if you run multiple sites. But honestly if you don't know server admin basics, it becomes a nightmare the second something breaks. I had a cheap vultr instance crash during a decent campaign last year and spent five hours in ssh trying to fix a corrupted database... not fun.

For me Hetzner has been the most reliable for cheap unmanaged stuff, but you have to do the setup yourself. Worst experience was easily Hostgator a few years back. They throttled my account for resource abuse during a minor traffic spike and support just kept trying to upsell me to a dedicated plan instead of helping.

Yup for sure. I mean it’s not that hard to get the hang of. I recommended vps because it’s cheap and ur in control. Also bc rn with AI, u can download codex and just let codex set stuff up for you. If you don’t know at all what ur doing, just stick to a hosting provider
 
I feel the same many hosting providers start well but later suffer from slow support downtime or hidden limitations and problems
 
As with everything - you get what you pay for
If you start cheap and grow, than of course that plan can no longer support what you need.

Cheap host = lot of clients signing up for that cheap package = limited server and support resources for these exact clients to be able to maintain that cheap price.
I've also signed up to a great host back in 2008, but the quality and service went south after they sold their company to a competitor.

Lots of corporate MBA types running large type of hosting companies think in terms of "costs" and "profits"etc. but forget that hosting is primarily also about service and support.
 
For money sites I stopped chasing the cheapest plan and just use managed VPS now, usually KnownHost or Hetzner + RunCloud if I feel like doing it myself. What made me stick is boring stuff... backups actually work, tickets answered by someone who can read, and no random “resource abuse” emails when a page gets a bit of traffic. Worst was Bluehost years ago, site was down half a day and support kept copy/pasting cache advice like that fixes a dead server. Shared hosting is fine for testing, but for anything earning even small money, nah.
 
It's a common issue. There will always be issue with shared hosting. They try as much as they can to make you purchase costly plans. A vps is better for most sites if you can afford it.
 
You can try to setup on digitalocean as this is the best way from what i tried and you can use for many sites at the same time
