GTA 6 pre-orders are live and the estimates of their first hour sales are absolutely crazy. People believe the game will make $1 Billion in the first hour. For comparison, GTA 5 made its first billion in the first three days.

Take Two (the creators of the game) have priced their standard edition of the game at $80 and the Ultimate edition at $100. GTA 6 will have single player game content locked behind the Ultimate edition, which some are calling a powerful move of game content monetization.

The massive success of the game will come from the GTA Online. Some analysts predict Take Two will make $60 of microtransactions every year from every user of the game.

This year, GTA Online will most likely come out on consoles in November first so all the console players will get to enjoy the game first. For the rest of us, the PC version will likely come out years later.

What are your opinions of the pre-order price of $80 and $100? Will this trend of monetizing single player game content like Take Two in Ultimate edition, become the new standard of game editions?

I was a gamer when i was younger, now i hardly play anything. I also always played on PC. But for GTA 6 i am gonna get a PS5 and everything i need to just lock myself away for 2 weeks straight.

That is only after i took care of my family the full day and satisfied my wife in the evening. But those two hours every evening will be golden :DD

I am gonna of course get the ultimate version. If i buy a game again, i want the full experience.

I dont mind paying $80-$100 for a game if its genuinely worth it and provides hundreds of hours of content like GTA usually does, what worries me more is locking single player content behind a more expensive edition. If GTA 6 gets away with it I can definitely see other publishers copying the model.

As for the $1 billion in the first hour, It is a bit ambitious but than again GTA is one of the few franchises that can generate that level of hype and sales almost instantly.

It’s been a long time since I played the GTA series; my memories are still stuck on Vice City.

I agree my memories where also stuck on vice city and pre booking for GTA6 is already done now.

I totally understand mixing family time and finding some time to yourself at night. I struggle with that as well on a daily basis. I get it.

Spending money on a PS5 for this release is the best example as to why Take-Two knows they can sell $100 for the Ultimate Edition. They know people will pay to get the rest of the game. I’ll stick with my PC for now but I hope you find it worth it on those 2 hours every night.

I totally agree about this pricing model. It feels right to pay $80 for that much content, but selling the $100 Ultimate Edition with no single-player is kind of bold. If Take-Two shows players are gonna be okay with that, you can bet they will all be following that model right after.

I think the $1 billion projection sounds crazy too. But considering the hype over the last ten years, if any franchise is going to be able to do $10 billion in an hour, it is Grand Theft Auto. The only question is if the console online stores will be able to handle it.

Vice City is a classic series. From what we're seeing, Grand Theft Auto 6 is updating Vice City. If you never left the series, now is the best time to check out how much the game has really changed.

I know we are all excited for the new map, but I know my PC can't handle it. It would melt trying to load that!

Vice City hits the nostalgia button for sure. Nice that you got your preorder! Did you get the standard or Ultimate Edition?

I am obviously serious about being PC only so that means I am just sitting back watching the console hype train go by. It's nice seeing everyone so amped about going back though. Let me know what you decided to get!

I didn't check yet the price but if is like 100$ may wait for a discount as seem a lot for a game lol. Also I'm not sure what hardware will i need to get the best experience for this game can a pc with i7 14700k and 3060 can play this game normally? I will like to play to be honest as i'm pretty much a fan of gta 5 so gta6 may be a lot better i hope

You have plenty of time to wait for a discount. The bad news for us PC players is that the game launches in November on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Since Rockstar has not yet announced a PC release date, we will be waiting until probably the end of 2027 to 2028.

Your hardware is solid. An i7-14700K and RTX 3060 should work nicely for the game even with the set requirements not being released. An RTX 3060 should run 1080p very easily when the port is released, should be good. I still have a pretty old i5 6th gen and a RX 580, so my PC will for sure be a problem until I upgrade it before the PC release.

Also, the Standard Edition is actually at a price of $80 instead of $100, which is a great price. But a good plan is to wait for a Steam sale later!

Unless the prices are going to increase on release, it's absolutely silly pre-ordering a game. If there's not going to be any benefit, then makes nonsese.

by the way, my ps5 has been lying fallow for a while, maybe GTA6 would encourage me to play games on it a bit more.
