A while ago i setup an old API key (years ago now), that was quietly scrapping reddit and worked for the whole time.
As of just a few weeks ago, it suddenly started throwing 401 errors.

A bit of reading shows older reddit API keys /client/secret SHOULD still work, and some of the reddit apps that require you to put you own app-clientid/secrets still work with those ones... but why did this one fail?

Is there some kind of 'registration' process I need to do? or did it just get flagged for scrape-like behaviour?

Reddit taken down the app creation to get keys and taken down scrapping using api..even jaon

reddit started waging war against scrapers in the past few years and they are getting more aggressive with it and tightening the way scrapers access their data.

I read that more people are getting their old API keys revoked, and I think reddit is getting smarter and they see what you're doing with their API.

So the only way to get your API back is to re apply again but since you're a scraper, it may be impossible to get a response back from them
