I am trying to better understand tik tok performance metrics, especially enagegment rate .i often see different numbers mentioned online, with some creators saying 3-5 % is good , while others aim for much higher rates.

for those actively using tiktok , what engagement rate do you currently cosider good or healthy?

I think context matters more than the percentage itself. If videos are getting comments, shares, and good watch time consistently, I'd consider that a healthy sign even if the engagement rate isn't exceptionally high.

Views matter more to me than engagement rate. A lower ER with massive reach is still a win.

A healthy engagement rate on TikTok typically ranges from 3% to 9% (or higher depending on follower size). Accounts with smaller follower counts are more likely to achieve higher percentages than this.

Th exact number can vary depend on your niche, audience size ,and the content type. I pay more attention to watch time , shares and comments because they often indicate stronger audience interest and can help videos reach more people.

Tbh it’s not that important. What’s important is retention rate. That makes ur videos get pushed to more people

Around 3% to 5% engagement is usually considered good on TikTok. If you consistently get higher than that, your content is likely connecting very well with viewers.

A healthy TikTok engagement rate depends on the niche and account size, but around 3–5% is generally considered good. Smaller creators often see higher rates, while larger accounts may have lower percentages due to scale. Consistency and growth trends matter more than one number.

I wouldn't focus too much on a specific percentage because it can vary a lot by niche, audience size and content type. As a general rule, anything consistently above 3-5% is usually a good sign but I'd pay more attention to whether engagement is trending up over time rather than chasing a fixed number.

A good range is 3–6%. That’s considered healthy today, while anything higher usually means strong content performance. Watch time still matters more than the number itself.

I think a good range rate on TikTok is around 4-5%. But on the engagement rate it vary depending on the niche, audience size, and content type.

For me, anything below 2% feels weak, and 3–4% is average. On TikTok, good storytelling usually pushes it higher.

It really depends on your account size and your content niche bro, if u have a small scaled accounts u can see much higher engagement because the audience is more connected and larger accounts maybe have lower rates as they scale bro

On TikTok, an engagement rate (ER) of 3% to 9% is considered good and healthy [The CareerLink shares that a good rate is >9%. Smaller accounts typically have higher ERs (above 10-15%), while accounts with large followings (millions) usually have lower standard ERs (3-5%) due to their larger audience size. For an accurate assessment, you should consider the 12 metrics TikTok measures, including likes, comments, shares, and video saves. Shares and video saves have a much higher weighting in the recommendation algorithm than just liking.

There's no fixed benchmark, but if your engagement keeps increasing over time, you're on the right track regardless of the exact percentage.

3 to 5% is solid for most accs anything above that is genuinely good. bigger accs naturally see lower rates so context matters.

An ER rate maintained above 3-5% is a solid indicator that your content is attracting attention. However, pursuing a fixed standard is a mistake for beginners; in reality, this metric fluctuates significantly depending on the industry, type of content, and the size of your account. The smart strategy here is not to obesess over a fixed number, but to monitor long-term trends; if your engagement trend line is consistently rising, then your channel is performing effectively.

3% to 10% is usually a good engagement rate. However, if your videos go viral they can attract many more followers as well!
