I Went to Reddit for Visitors but Found Something More Valuable

I originally started looking at Reddit just as another way to get traffic but ended up finding something more useful which is real user problems and conversations.

The way people explain their issues, ask questions and share opinions gave me better ideas for content, products and improvements than just looking at search volume numbers.

Has anyone else used Reddit this way?

Do you mainly use it for traffic, content research, understanding your audience or finding new opportunities? Would love to hear how others are using Reddit beyond just promotion.

The way users describe their challenges and experiences can provide insights that are difficult to get from search volume data alone. It's been a valuable source of content and product ideas for me.

Yeah, that’s pretty much how I use it now too. Traffic is just a bonus. The real value is spotting patterns in what people are repeatedly struggling with. those usually turn into the best content or product angles.

Reddit gives you unfiltered conversations, real pain points, objections, and the exact language people use to describe their problems. I've gotten better content ideas, product improvements, and marketing angles from a few hours on Reddit than from keyword tools alone. Traffic is great, but the insights are often even more valuable.

You can find valuable insights if you participate in the discussions of niche subs. The general/entertainment subs don't provide much value to marketers like us. I have also found it extremely helpful to DM users who mention a problem of interest and get more information from them to understand their perspective better. Even in affiliate marketing, it helps us describe these pain points to trigger their subconscious dilemmas about purchasing a product or service.

I completely agree. Traffic is useful, but Reddit's biggest value is the unfiltered feedback you get from real people. On most platforms, people are trying to sell something or build a personal brand. On Reddit, users are usually more honest about their problems, frustrations, and what solutions they've already tried.


I've found it especially useful for content research and product validation. Sometimes a single Reddit thread reveals more about customer pain points than hours of keyword research. The best opportunities often come from repeated complaints or unanswered questions that keep appearing across multiple subreddits.


In my opinion, Reddit is less of a traffic source and more of a market research goldmine.

For sure, if you see someone post good content and it’s getting decent traction, why not implement the same tactic. Reddit si still one of the best traffic sources out there for pretty much every niche.
