Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed that finding older discussions and niche information on Reddit seems easier than it was in the past.
Do you think Reddit’s search functionality has improved enough to help users discover valuable content, or do you still prefer using external search engines to find Reddit posts?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

For the fastest and best results stilll external search is best, or maybe I just got used to it like that.

More and more people are using reddit so I'd not be surprised.

Never been too fond of Reddit's search system. Out of convenience, if at least force of habit, I tend to do my searches there on Google if I have to.

I don't know what to compare it with since I wasn't heavy on Reddit search in the past, but right now I hate the AI summary at the top of the search result. I also hate that sometimes when you're looking for a very specific thread going by the exact title, you might not see it. You have to apply sorting to get what you're looking for.

If you're searching for anything related to your search term(like conversations on topics) yes, but when you're doing precision search for specific thread or something like that, you're better off you using the built-in search.

As a beginner, I think Reddit search is getting better but there is still a need for improvement

It has definitely improved, but I still prefer using google with reddit added to the search. I think reddit search is better for finding recent discussions, but for older threads and niche topics, external search engines still seem to do a better job.
