Thanks for asking! I’m mainly looking for hosting to run a few small websites with stable performance and minimal downtime. Nothing too heavy, but reliability and good support are important. I do love to hear your suggestions based on that.

- based on the sites (not traffic but rather the way they are developed), what kind of performance do you expect and what do you need (in terms of resources) to achieve it.
- how can the host support you in case of a security breach (backups, pro-active security etc.), you'd be surprised how many hosts are not that secure as they claim and I say that from experience, I worked for a "premium" hosting company which was of course charging premium but was nothing but a shared host with minimal security (I mean when you SSH to the server you can see the other users as well).
- determine how much are you going to relay on the support so you don't get unpleasantly surprised when you need to talk to someone and can't reach the support because an AI bot can put you through or you get stuck in a limbo of all kinds of useless articles.

When you answer yourself those, select a handful of providers, get in touch with them and challenge them with questions. Ideally run a trial and whoever aligns with your needs will be your best pick.

Most hosts work fine but if you've special needs say you run a 'grey niche' business, then you'll be looking at a few bulletproof ones

the main things Id look at are uptime, support quality, server speed, renewal pricing, and how strict they are with random complaints or account flags. A lot of hosts look good on the sales page, but then the support is slow, uptime is mid, or they hit you with annoying limits later.

Cheap hosting can be fine for small stuff, but for anything serious, you want something stable that wont randomly nuke your site or leave you hanging when there’s an issue.
