In my area, most people of all ages have switched to Instagram. On that bases, do you think, you could become dead soon ?

On the contrary actually, youtube continues to grow larger and larger, and all of these social medias have their own place, instagram wont die, tiktok wont either, youtube for example is the place to go for actual quality, where else other than youtube can you find a 1 hour long quality and entertaining video completely for free to entertain yourself? same with tiktok, if you want to have a quick laugh or see what the latest trend is, or if you want some out of pocket comments, instagram is the place, long story short, people dont "switch" from youtube, most people i know use like 4 or 5 social medias.

It doesn't make much sense, YouTube content quality is way much higher than Instagram in many niches.

Instagram is just for quick scrolling and dopamine hits. You can't build deep audience loyalty or real search traffic over there. YouTube isn't dying at all, it's just becoming the new television ecosystem. If you notice people around you shifting, start shooting long form videos for YouTube search, then chop up the best hooks into IG Reels to drag them back to your channel.

People swap to Instagram for quick scrolling, but creators stay on YouTube because Instagram pays garbage for views. YouTube has the absolute best ad revenue share. If your local area is shifting, use Instagram strictly to blast short teasers, then add a strong call to action directing that traffic to your main YouTube channel to cash in.

It is useful for old generation. But majority of young guys are spending most of their internet time on Instagram.

YouTube is absolutely losing the attention war to Instagram right now. Entertainment habits completely shifted, and nobody has the patience for 20 minute videos anymore. Instead of crying about it, optimize for the trend run highly targeted Meta ads on Instagram to build your list, and use YouTube purely as a backend video hosting server for your landing pages.

Kids scrolling ig reels all day dont have any money to spend anyway... yt traffic converts way better because of search intent. if someone searches how to fix something or looks up a product review on youtube they actually want to buy. ig is just mindless scrolling. i still get my highest epcs from youtube traffic by far even if the raw view counts look lower than reels. both have their place but yt definitely isnt dying anytime soon.

Kinda depends on what you are selling... @Seo Captain is right that attention spans are shot and the younger crowd is glued to reels, but those views are mostly empty calories. i ran a campaign last month driving IG traffic to a lander vs YT search traffic... the YT traffic converted at like 3x the rate even though the CPC was higher. if you just want cheap eyeballs sure IG wins, but for actually putting money in the bank YT isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I think YouTube is still growing strongly, and YouTube Shorts has gradually changed the game. In my opinion, YouTube will continue to grow and remain one of the strongest platforms for content creators.

YouTube has the best monetization system for creators by far. As long as creators get paid way better on YT than on Instagram or TikTok, the high-quality content will stay on YouTube.
