Hey

Run into something strange on LinkedIn lately. A few months ago my posts would consistently get views and engagement from people in my network.

Recently it feels like even followers who normally interact with my content are barely seeing it. The content style has not changed much, posting frequency is the same and engagement from the people who do see it is still decent. It almost feels like LinkedIn is limiting distribution before the post gets a chance to perform.

Has anyone else noticed this? What do you think affects initial LinkedIn reach the most in 2026?"

Many users have reported similar changes. Initial reach appears to be influenced by factors such as early engagement quality, audience relevance, dwell time, and LinkedIn's ongoing algorithm updates. Even strong content can see reduced visibility if it doesn't receive enough positive signals shortly after publishing.

Had the same dip around march. What helped me was the first 60-90 min after posting... if you can get a few real comments in fast, not just likes, the post travels way further. Likes barely move the needle anymore from what i can tell.

One thing nobody mentioned, outbound links in the post body still tank reach hard. I started dropping the link in first comment instead and saw a clear difference. Also editing a post right after publishing seemed to hurt me a couple times, idk if that's confirmed but i stopped doing it.

@Ninja Reddit how often you posting? If its daily, sometimes the algo just starts treating you like background noise and spacing out a bit helps. Worth testing for a week or two.

I've noticed lower reach too. It seems LinkedIn tests posts with a small audience first, so early engagement makes a big difference. I've had better results by posting when my audience is active and encouraging genuine discussion.

I've noticed something similar over the past few months. Have you changed anything in your posting times or audience targeting recently. It feels like LinkedIn is putting more weight on early engagement signals now. Posts that don't get traction in the first hour seem to struggle with wider distribution even when the content quality is solid.

This is an issue I’ve experienced before, and it often happens when an account is shadowbanned due to content violations.

yeah the weird part with LinkedIn now is it feels less post-by-post and more account health / audience match. If you’ve been posting into mixed topics for a while, the first test batch can be totally wrong people and then the post dies even if its decent. I’d check who is actually seeing the first few impressions, not just total views. Also doing 10-15 mins of real comments on niche posts before publishing seems to wake the account up a bit, sounds dumb but it’s worked for me more than changing hashtags.

I’ve noticed the same thing. From what I’m seeing in 2026, initial reach seems to depend heavily on early engagement signals within the first hour, especially meaningful comments rather than likes.

LinkedIn also appears to be giving more visibility to content that sparks conversations between connections, while overly promotional or repetitive formats may get less distribution. Audience activity, dwell time, and whether people interact with your posts consistently over time seem to matter more than follower count alone.

Curious to hear if others have seen similar changes or found ways to improve early reach recently.

this will likely be down to a change in the algo loosing
interest in your post, so the views drop off .

I've seen similar reports. Reach can fluctuate even when your content hasn't changed. Initial engagement, relevance to your network, post format, and how consistently people interact with your content all seem to influence distribution. I'd keep testing different hooks, formats, and posting times rather than assuming it's a shadowban.
