The first things I'd check are the account's history, spending limits, Business Manager access, payment method ownership, and whether the account has had previous policy violations. I'd also avoid making major changes immediately after getting access, as that can sometimes trigger reviews.
If your store is long-term, building your own verified Business Manager is usually the safer option. Renting can work, but you're always relying on someone else's account, so there's an added level of risk.
