I think it is a mix of both Most viral formats start with repetition because people copy what is already working but the creators who grow long term usually add their own angle style or personality The trend gets attention but originality is often what keeps viewers coming back for more

It is 90% structured repetition. The algorithm triggers on watch-time retention, not moral artistic points. If you want to print money from the Creativity Program, stop trying to invent a new genre. Take a viral 3 minute movie recap, rewrite the script with a hyper-aggressive question hook in the first 2->6s , and completely swap out the voiceover vibe.
