SCP Foundation is a non-government organization that collects and contains supernatural discoveries. Writers catalogue these fictional phenomena in the form of fake records, studies, research documents, and logs, all of which are indexed in a sprawling archive.

If you Google “SCP-565”, an iconic entry in the SCP Foundation, Google’s AI Overviews describes the nonexistent entity as though it were entirely real, without a single acknowledgement that it’s a piece of online horror fiction.

Google currently removed AI overviews for similar keywords after it became viral on the internet and reported by multiple sources and discussed on platforms like Reddit.

People reported at least 20 other cases of AI overviews that portray fictional monsters as real including SCP-922, SCP-704, and SCP-779.

This is a good reminder to not blindly trust AI generated summaries. that is why i always check unusual claims with multiple sources especially if the topic is from fiction, gaming, or community generated content. AI is great, but human fact checking is still needed.

Ai still hallucinates sometimes, it's good reminder to double check anything important instead of trusting AI summaries blindly.
