Since the World Cup is going on, I thought it would be fun to have a daily match prediction thread : )
The idea is simple.
I will try to update the thread with the matches for each matchday and anyone who wants can drop their score predictions before the matches start.
You don't need to be a football expert to join. Just predict and have fun with it.
How it works:
- Predict the correct score for any match listed for the day.
- Please try to keep all your predictions for the day in one post so it is easier to track.
- You can predict all matches for the day or only the ones you care about.
- Predictions must be posted before each match kicks off.
- If a prediction is edited after that match starts, the prediction for that match may not count
Scoring:
3 points = exact correct score
1 point = correct result
0 points = wrong result
Example:
If the match ends England 2-1 Germany:
England 2-1 Germany = 3 points
England 1-0 Germany = 1 point
England 3-1 Germany = 1 point
England 1-1 Germany = 0 points
Germany 2-1 England = 0 points
If the match ends USA 2-2 Canada:
USA 2-2 Canada = 3 points
USA 1-1 Canada = 1 point
USA 0-0 Canada = 1 point
USA 2-1 Canada = 0 points
Canada 2-1 USA = 0 points
After each matchday, I will try to shout out the top predictor of the day. If there are enough close entries, I may also mention a few other top predictors.
Nothing too serious here. Just for fun and to keep the World Cup discussion going for anyone who wants to join in.
Normal World Cup comments, reactions, and banter are welcome too : )
