What is the right way to add links without hurting reach on Quora?

Recently, I have noticed that answers without links performs better than answers containing external URLs or brand name.
For those using Quora as a traffic source, what is the right way to include links naturally without affecting visibility?
Is it more about answer quality, account authority, link frequency, or something else?

I usually avoid links in every answers . Instead , I use them only when they genuinely help explain point or provide additional information. keeping the link natural and relevant has worked much better than trying to drive traffic directly.

In my case, Answer Quality has always been the biggest factor . but when I do include link , I make sure the answer is detailed enough that readers can benefit even without clicking it.

I would say answer quality comes first, followed by account credibility and sensible link usage. If readers find your content useful , the link is much less likely to hurt performance.

My biggest recommendation for quora is hire a good content writer who can write great answers. That is the only way to win now a days.

If you want your answers to not collapse, then don't add links at all. Unless you have very strong quora accounts and your writers wrote a great piece of content.

I have also noticed that accounts which constantly mention the same brand or domain tend to struggle more over time. So I think it's a combination of answer quality, account trust, and link frequency rather than just the link itself.

Sometimes the answers with no links perform the best, and people end up visiting your profile anyway if they find your content useful.

Yes, I have also experienced that same. In my opinion it is about answer's content quality first that helps to build account authority. If, you take time to mention any brand name and put link in your answer.

as a beginner my approach would be to create a valuable content first and then include a relevant link only when it supports readers to learn more about the specific topic.
