Is reddit a good place to promote software, and what the best way to ?

It is but Reddit users are a bit different from others :D your software should be solid without any bugs or it will ruin the whole thing. buy a high karma account so you can spam subreddits

Hello i'm looking for space to promote a free software to get download on it !
i'm earning with affilitate marketing as you need a domain name and a vps in order to use my software !

Do you know if reddit is good place for this kind of marketing ?
You could try some other software; who knows, it might be a great opportunity for you.

reddit work well to promote your software

join niche subreddits related to your software, engage with people, answer questions, and mention your tool

Reddit works,. Only if you do it in a sneaky way. If you post directly about your product it usually gets. Taken down quickly.

Here's a better way:

Share stories about how you used the software to solve a problem
Give people a version with some limits
Help people with specific issues in subreddits instead of just saying "download my tool"
Use GitHub and Reddit together
Look for subreddits where the moderators are not too strict

Most people fail on Reddit because they try to sell their stuff right away instead of being helpful first. They should focus on being useful and sharing their knowledge, about the software.

Free download + affiliate is the pattern mods filter hardest. From what I've seen, niche subs (smaller, specific use case) accept builds when you post the actual problem you solved, demo gif, no link in OP. Drop the link when someone asks in comments.

Free software usually performs best when you focus on solving real problems, sharing useful educational content, and building trust within niche communities before pushing direct promotions.

Yes. So many people search "(software name) review reddit" it's crazy or things like "Software for (niche) reddit"

Being on top of google search with a good post is key.

Yes reddit can work very well for software promotion if done correctly biggest mistake is direct spamming better way is sharing useful tutorials case studies or helping people in related subreddits first, Soft promotion works much better than dropping links everywhere

i would say Reddit can be useful for software promotion but the focus should be on helping people and contributing to discussions first.

as a beginner i believe Reddit can be valuable for software promotion when the focus is on helping people and contributing to the community instead of just promoting the product.

i would say, Reddit can be useful for software promotion but community participation and useful information should come before promotion.

i would say reddit can be effective for software visibility when the focus is on helping others first and promoting second.
