Many of the most successful answers on Quora seem to gain traction because they were posted early on questions that later attracted significant attention. Identifying these high-potential opportunities before they become saturated appears to be an important skill, but it is not always clear what signals experienced marketers use to spot them.

What process do you use to identify high potential questions at an early stage? Are there specific indicators , research methods , niche trends and questions characteristics?

Firstly I Look for Questions that have decent follower count , recent activity and a topic that is trending outside of Quora . Sometimes I will check Google trends, industry news , reddit discussions , or even what people are talking about in facebook groups. if a topic is gaining attention elsewhere , there is a good chance related questions on Quora will grow too.

Another thing I watch for is questions with clear search intent. Questions that solve a specific problem often perform better than broad discussions topics.

In my experienced, it is not about finding the perfect question. It is about understanding what peoples are interested in and where their attention is moving.

I usually look for questions around emerging topics in a niche rather than broad topics that already have hundreds of answers. If a question has very few answers but is related to something people are actively discussing on Reddit, Google, X, or industry forums, that's usually a good sign.

As for indicators, I pay attention to:
  • New questions around growing trends.
  • Questions with very few answers.
  • Questions that solve a specific problem rather than asking something generic.
  • Topics that are getting discussed across multiple platforms.
The biggest wins I have seen came from answering questions early, before the competition arrived. Once a question already has dozens of highly viewed answers, it becomes much harder to stand out no matter how good your answer is.
