Determine whether a drop in quora views is due to algorithm changes to content Quality

Many Quora writers experience periods where their answer views suddenly decline , even though their posting habits remain consistent. It can be difficult to identify whether the drop is caused by changes in Quora's recommendation algorithm, shifts in user behavior , increased competition , or issues with the quality and relevance of the content itself.

Its always been the case, for the first few days quora push the answers/questions to the people who are interested in. Generally they send them via email/newsletter or recommended topic notifications.

But once its few days old it in the hands of google to send traffic or people to search for it.

I would say you shouldn't determine the post worked or not on the basis of number of views they got. But you should go with overtime success of answer.

I have seen this happen a few times and honestly it is hard to know whether it is an algorithm change or a content issue because quora does not share much information.

In my case, instead of creating more answers, I went back and updated some of my older answers. I improved the formatting, added newer information, and expanded answers that were too short. After some time, a few of those answers started getting views again.

Another thing I noticed is that answering trending or recently active questions tends to perform better than focusing only on older questions with hundreds of existing answers.

So before assuming it's an algorithm update, you should review your older answer first. Sometimes small improvements can make a bigger difference than publishing more answers.
