Does the age of a website still matter for SEO?

Domain age helps indirectly, but it’s rarely the deciding factor.

New sites can still rank fine if content and SEO are strong. Domain age has very little impact compared to relevance, quality, and backlinks.
 
I’ve seen newer sites outrank older ones pretty fast once they dial in their content and hit the right search intent, so age feels more like a tiny bump than a make-or-break factor. If anything, I treat aged domains as a nice shortcut, not a magic sauce. I just keep posting stuff people actually want to read and let the trust build up at its own pace.

New domains can rank fine if the content and structure are strong. Older domains mostly benefit from accumulated trust and backlinks, not age itself. I'd focus more on topical authority and consistency than chasing aged domains.

In my opinion domain age is nor a direct ranking factor in SEO. a new website can still rank good if it has useful content, good structure and best SEo practices.
