Is Tumblr still effective for driving traffic in 2026?

Tumblr used to be a strong platform for bloggers and marketers.
For those active today, are you still seeing meaningful traffic or engagement from Tumblr?

I was ranking for few weeks but it's rankings fizzled out. It's not a viable platform as far as ranking on google is concern.

Yes, tumblr can still bring traffic, but it is not as strong as it used to be. From what I have seen, it works better for specific niches like aesthetics, quotes, fandom, fashion, or art. If your content fits that style, you can still get decent engagement. But for most niches, it is more of a support platform rather than a main traffic source. Do not rely on it alone.
 
It’s still active, but not like before. I’ve seen some niche traffic from it, mostly for certain topics, but it’s not a major source anymore. More like a secondary platform.Good for extra exposure.

tumblr still works but not like before, traffic is way lower now and most people using it just for niche stuff like fandom, art, quotes etc, overall platform still got around 130M+ users but engagement and reach dropped a lot so dont expect big traffic , from what i see and others also saying its more like side traffic source now not main one, u can still get some clicks if your content fits tumblr style but for serious lead gen or affiliate its kinda weak, better use it as support with other platforms not rely on it alone.
 
Tumblr has declined a lot since they banned NSFW content; now many people have migrated to X or Bluesky. I don't know what it's like now; I haven't used that platform in a while, and it used to be one of the best for emerging content creators, especially in the artistic field.

Tumblr still has value for some group users, but its role has changed considerably, reaching a temporary peak. Niche communities are what it does well. However, you should only consider it as a supplementary channel ;)
 
In my opinion, Tumblr no longer has a large, active user base. As a result, using it to generate organic traffic has become much more difficult, and achieving strong results is challenging.
