Thats interesting. Do you optimize specifically for Bing?

Nothing specific for bing. Only thing counts is does bing indexes or not. Bing is notorious for not indexing new sites.
Although Google SEO mostly translates to Bing SEO, Bing SEO is much more literal. I you want to actively rule this search engine, incorporate keyword matches in your titles/H1s, try getting social signals that Bing actually does recognize, and connect to IndexNow

Bing traffic can be valuable as an additional source of organic visitors, especially with lower competition compared to Google.

For most sites, good Google SEO also works well for Bing.
That said, Bing tends to reward exact-match keywords, strong on-page SEO, and older established domains a bit more. You can get decent Bing traffic without special optimization, but submitting your site to Bing Webmaster Tools is definitely worth doing.

In my experience, most Bing traffic comes naturally from solid Google SEO. Good content, strong technical SEO, and quality backlinks tend to work well on both. That said, I still make sure sites are verified in Bing Webmaster Tools and keep an eye on indexing there, since Bing can behave a bit differently at times.

Bing indexing is the real bottleneck like @IM Dude said. I had a couple newer sites that ranked fine on google for months but bing wouldnt touch them. What finally moved the needle was IndexNow plus actually verifying in Bing Webmaster Tools and submitting the sitemap manually. Once they index, the rankings come almost for free off the same google work imo.
One thing nobody mentioned... bing seems to weight your URL structure and exact match in the domain/path more than google does. Had two similar sites, the one with the keyword in the slug consistently outranked the cleaner one on bing only. Small thing but it adds up if your chasing that traffic.

Plus bing is notorious enough to re-index the site if deindexed.

Honestly, I don't run a separate Bing optimization campaign. Most of my Google focused work carries over really well. Strong on page SEO, fast site speed, proper schema, high quality content, and decent backlinks all seem to matter to Bing too.
That said, there are a few differences I've noticed. Bing tends to reward exact match anchor text and domain names a bit more than Google does in 2026. They also seem to like fresh content and social signals (shares, comments) more than Google currently does. I make sure to claim my site in Bing Webmaster Tools, submit sitemaps there, and write slightly longer, more descriptive meta descriptions because they show more characters in the SERPs.
my approach is mostly "optimize hard for Google and then give Bing a little extra love" rather than treating it as a totally separate thing. It's been working well enough that I wouldn't want to ignore it.

If you already have a good established Bing strategy, there is absolutely no need to scrap it and start over. Simply ensure smooth indexing via official Bing tools, simplify the keywords on key pages,
streamline the site structure, place keywords directly into titles and URLs, and configure IndexNow; you can still generate highly targeted traffic.

I never specifically optimize for Bing, whatever works for Google naturally carries over. However, Bing traffic is a hidden gem because it usually converts better (older, desktop-heavy demographic).
The only specific thing I do for them is use the IndexNow API. It's a lifesaver for getting content indexed almost instantly without waiting around for Googlebot.
