I’ve been testing both https://www.blackhatworld.com/chatgpt%3A//generic-entity?number=1 and https://www.blackhatworld.com/chatgpt%3A//generic-entity?number=2 for the past 10 days.
Just real usage for content automation.

Here’s what I found

1. First Impressions
Veo 3.1

• Extremely realistic motion
• Native sound generation (huge advantage)
• Better physics simulation
• More “cinematic” feel

Runway
• Faster workflow
• More editing control
• Easier to tweak outputs
• More consistent renders

Veo feels like a powerful engine.
Runway feels like a production tool.

2. Output Quality Test
I tested both with the same prompt:
“abandoned snowy town, cinematic drone shot, slow camera movement, ultra realistic”

Veo 3.1 Results:
• Better lighting realism
• Natural environmental motion (snow + fog)
• Sound generated automatically
• Slightly unpredictable framing

Runway Results:
• Cleaner composition
• More stable shots
• No native sound
• Slightly more “AI-looking” in fine details

Winner for realism → Veo
Winner for control → Runway

3. Speed & Workflow

Runway

• Faster rendering
• Easy regeneration
• UI is production-ready

Veo
• Slower generation
• Limited editing control
• Feels more experimental

If you’re doing volume content → Runway wins.
If you’re doing cinematic storytelling → Veo wins.

4. Monetization Perspective

For TikTok automation:
• Runway is more practical
• Faster iteration = more output

For YouTube cinematic faceless channels:
• Veo quality stands out more
• Especially for storytelling niches

For selling local ads:
• Runway is safer (predictable results)

5. Cost Consideration
Veo uses credit-based AI plans.

Heavy usage burns credits fast.

Runway subscription feels more stable for batch production.
If you’re scaling content farms → Runway makes more financial sense right now.

6. Honest Downsides

Veo 3.1

• Less predictable
• Harder to refine exact shots
• Credit system limits experimentation

Runway
• Slightly artificial movement sometimes
• No built-in audio generation
• Needs external sound design

7. Final Verdict (No Hype)

If your goal is:
✔ Cinematic quality
✔ Realistic physics
✔ Experimental storytelling
→ Veo 3.1

If your goal is:
✔ Volume production
✔ Automation
✔ Faster workflow

→ Runway

Personally? I’m using Veo for hero videos. Runway for bulk content.
Curious how others here are using these tools.
Is anyone scaling monetized channels with Veo yet?
Or is Runway still the safer play?

runway is better for bulk work but veo quality is crazy if u have time to wait for renders.

Runway was about a year ahead of veo3 but google is doing a great work catching.up.very fast and even.making usage free to some.extend
